Description : JOB PURPOSE
Assist the Midwestern Baptist / Spurgeon College Office of Financial Aid with U. S. Department of Education compliance, processes, and procedures, as well as managing all loan processing activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide exceptional customer service for current, incoming, and prospective students, and employees of the institution.
- Lead out in reporting enrollment and solving problems within the office to ensure Department of Education compliance.
- Maintain and execute the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) processes and ensure it is being accurately reported.
- Monitor various program level awarding to ensure compliance with Title IV and Institutional policies.
- Become a School Certifying Official (SCO) for the Department of Veterans Affairs
- Assist the financial aid military liaison in the processing, awarding, and maintaining of awards for the three types of military aid offered by Midwestern and Spurgeon College.
- Maintain accurate Federal Work-Study expenditure records.
- Compile data and prepare special or recurring reports for supervisor or other departments as requested.
- Maintain accurate and up to date files for annual financial aid audits.
- Attend and participate in department meetings.
- Participate in ongoing departmental training activities to ensure an understanding of the colleges programs, curriculum, graduation requirements, policies and procedures, resources, and services available to students, coordinating with staff in the areas of financial aid, registration, and admission, and other enrollment management services.
- Coordinate and enhance all data system processes, document management systems, and various compliance reports within the office.
- Own all scholarship awarding processes including but not limited to the input and management of scholarships into the school’s Student Information System (SIS) as well as maintain and improve current scholarship policies and processes.
- Take ownership of the scholarship awarding tool, Award Spring, and ensure the school’s Institutional scholarship application is up-to-date and maintained.
- Ensure phones are answered, email questions are addressed in a timely manner, and students are helped promptly with questions when they visit the office.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
