FLSA Status Full-Time; Salary Non-Exempt
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using various construction materials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Procure materials necessary to complete the project utilizing approved vendors while remaining within an approved budget.
- Work with a variety of construction materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall and metals.
- Utilize all types of tools including but not limited to chisel, plane, saw, drill, hydraulic press, hot saw, jack hammer, table saw, router, nail gun, level, tape measure, plumb bob, framing square
- Types of work to be performed
- Install cabinets and molding
- Remodel portions of rooms and buildings
- Build forms for concrete pours
- Erect scaffolds,
- Dig trenches,
- Replace or install windows, windowpanes, or ceiling tiles
- Repair and/or replace interior or exterior doors
- Repair or build furniture
- Install partition walls
- Move or install machinery
- Work assignment may include assisting with snow removal
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Include, but not limited to:
- Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
- High School Education or equivalent
- Possess and display knowledge of safe workplace practices
- Able to effectively communicate with, advise, and train fellow team members
- Must be reliable and ethical
- Must be able to utilize Microsoft Windows, Office and general computer software
- Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Able to take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
- Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must possess a positive attitude
- Must be able to show a desire and willingness to learn
- Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Monday - Friday, approx. 8 am to 4:30 pm
- 37.5-hour work week
- Extreme outside temperatures depending on the season
- May be required to work in tight spaces or at extreme heights
- Exposure to loud noises requiring hearing protection, dust, fumes, and gasses.
- Use of safety equipment including but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed work boots and hard hats.
- Loose fitting clothing is not permitted.
- Uniforms are provided
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to bend at waist, sit, kneel, climb, walk, crouch/squat, perform a repetitive motion as required or for extended period.
- Able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
- Able to push/pull/lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to climb ladder, stand on scaffolding, work from heights
- Able to work in small, confined spaces as necessary
- Able to work with solvents and various construction chemicals
