General Description: The Dispatcher facilitates and coordinates the efficient distribution of dispatch resources in accordance with customer orders and product distribution. He/she serves as a point of contact for drivers to coordinate loads leaving facility.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
· Production Schedules: Set daily production schedules to maintain sufficient inventory and fulfill orders.
· Data entry: Utilize dispatch spreadsheets and inventory database to ensure all material and product are recorded. Provide product supply, pricing and order status updates to customers as needed
· Effectively manage the coordination and scheduling of drivers and equipment for maximum utilization, while meeting customer needs.
· Manage driver scheduling and load dispatching with focus on efficiency, cost effectiveness, customer service and compliance.
· Effectively utilize dispatch tools to help coordinate all drivers and equipment.
· Assist walk-in customers and direct customer calls as needed.
· Serve as sales support.
· Special projects and other duties as they are assigned.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 2 years’ experience working in a dispatch department or equivalent
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
· Ability to multitask and manage multiple timelines at once
· Ability to think on your feet and make changes to plans frequently
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Must be able to work effectively under both direct and indirect supervision
· Must be organized and have great attention to detail
· Some weekend hours will be required during peak seasons (Spring and Fall)
Preferred
· Experience in a dispatch office/environment in transportation, logistics, or related field preferred
· Experience working in an agronomy company
· Experience hauling bulk fertilizer or operating custom application equipment
· Experience using SMS software or Precision Ag mapping applications
