Inventory Coordinator
Midwestern Mechanical, an employee-owned (ESOP) company, is seeking an Inventory Coordinator to provide high-quality service and support to field operations. This role requires familiarity with plumbing materials and a willingness to learn fire protection (FP) materials or vice versa. A solid technical background is also essential.
Essential Inventory Coordinator Responsibilities:
• Accurately receive and tag orders from suppliers.
• Maintain Midwestern Mechanical’s Plumbing & FP inventory systems.
• Process and fulfill field orders from the warehouse with a high level of accuracy.
• Communicate order status to field staff.
• Properly check in freight and direct materials to the correct job or warehouse area.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels as directed by management.
• Inspect and process unused returns, ensuring they are placed back into inventory.
• Clean materials as needed before preparing returns for vendors or wholesalers.
• Prepare and ship returns to suppliers.
• Assist with other shop duties as assigned by the Shop Director.
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to multitask.
• Must have or be able to obtain a DOT Health Card.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience or knowledge in plumbing, heating, or fire protection is preferred (familiarity with fire sprinklers and plumbing fittings is a plus).
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid forklift certification and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
