Position Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Department: Quality Assurance (Third Shift)
Shift: 3rd Shift
Days: Sunday night/Monday morning – Thursday night/Friday morning from 11pm-7:30am
1. Have a thorough understanding of and properly operate/maintain all equipment in the lab/s.
2. Collect, measure, and test finished products to assure they meet specified quality and food safety standards such as mycotoxin, moisture, protein, fat, density, water activity, shape, thickness, diameter. Communicate when standards are not met.
3. Test incoming ingredients to ensure they meet specified quality and food safety standards such as mycotoxin, moisture, protein, fat, ash, density, and evaluate documents. Communicate when standards are not met.
4. Monitor the manufacturing processes to ensure all steps in the processes meet specified quality and food safety standards. Communicate when standards are not met.
5. Support food safety programs.
6. Conduct GMP audits.
7. Calibrate and maintain lab equipment in good standing.
8. Complete and distribute reports as required. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, EXCEL).
9. Work cross-functionally with production, packing, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure a continuous flow of quality and efficiency throughout the plant.
10. Ensure all employees are following GMP’s at all times. Lead by example.
11. Report any food safety and quality issues to Quality Assurance Manager.
12. Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
13. Work in the most effective/efficient manner at all times. Maintain work areas clean, neat, and orderly.
14. Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. for sampling purposes.
15. Follow established rules of conduct.
16. Work overtime as required.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
· Minimum 18 years of age to apply.
· Must be able to communicate clearly.
· Must be able to read, write and speak English.
· Proficient computer skills.
· Previous lab experience / training is desired.
