What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spurgeon College Cohorts Associate – FWS position at Midwestern Seminary?
JOB PURPOSE
To serve Spurgeon College and the Accelerate Office by maintaining office records, planning and implementing events, and aiding academic and ministry placement initiatives to enable Accelerate students to train for ministry better and faster.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Spurgeon College Cohort Cup Events and Records
- Maintain Cohort Cup Scoreboard record.
- Assist in scheduling and planning for Cohort Cup events, Captains meetings, etc.
- Maintain Spurgeon College Cohort Cup Budget Report
- On-Campus Accelerate Cohort Events
- Reserve rooms and arrange catering.
- Oversee and assist with set up and tear down of event space for Accelerate cohort events.
- Maintain student communications and attendance records for Accelerate cohort events.
- Office Logistics and Recruiting events.
- Maintain and update any Accelerate Cohort budget data.
- Maintain and update required academic data.
- Assist in booking any necessary travel reservations, including but not limited to air travel, car rental, and hotel accommodations.
- Ensure all necessary travel requests are processed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Assist with and ensure proper submission of any travel reimbursement requests.
- Maintain the inventory of a travel case for recruiting events.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
- Working hours may not exceed 20 hours per week.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required.
- Must be able to work varying shifts.
MUST BE CURRENT STUDENT OF MBTS OR SPURGEON COLLEGE, AND
MUST QUALIFY FOR THE FEDERAL WORK STUDY PROGRAM VIA FAFSA
Including, but not limited to
- Christian with high integrity, currently pursuing a relationship with God.
- Minimum of two years in a bachelor’s program preferred.
- Friendly and winsome personality
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required.
- Basic knowledge of Canvas, Mailchimp, and Buffer preferred.
- Well written and well-spoken with professional nature both person to person and via phone/social medial contact.
- Able to plan and calendar long-range projects of a year or more, and to systematically execute the plans as developed.
- Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department.
- Must take the initiative to complete the duties of the position without the need of direct supervision.
- Able to learn and utilize new skills and information to improve job performance and efficiency.
- Must be able to work independently, as well as a part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Positive attitude
- Must possess a desire and willingness to learn.
- Able to pass background screening, including driving record.
- Eligible to work in the United States
PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at a desk or computer station.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
