Position Library Circulation Manager - Night Department Moffett Library Starting Date ASAP Starting Salary $2358.17 Monthly Plus Benefits Job # S028-25 Budget Position # CL0296 Posted 01 / 08 / 2025 DescriptionThe Circulation Night Manager oversees the process of checking materials in and out of the library, supervises student workers, and secures the building at the end of the day. Utilizes the library's circulation software to find materials for patrons, and must have knowledge of the various features of the software, such as fines, inventory and patron lists. The Circulation Night Manager has working understanding of the library's holdings and essential patron services. Supervises the student workers as they check out materials to patrons, shelve returned items, and answer basic questions. Gathers statistical data regarding library usage in the evenings. Manages and organizes the collection shelves of the library. This includes books, media, and equipment unique to these collections. Oversees large stack maintenance projects such as shifting, shelf reading, and reorganization. Responsible for securing and alarming the building at the end of the public hours.ExamplesOversees the checking in of new books. Informs patrons about fees or fines they may have incurred. Supervises a service area when a professional is not available. Supervises daily routines at circulation reserve desk. Supervises the weeding and daily collection management. Maintains reserve and inter-library loan collections. Performs other duties as assigned.Physical ConditionSome moderate lifting required.ExperienceLibrary experience is desirable. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated organizational, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
