The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Ledger Accountant with 4 years of experience to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing accurate financial statements, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. Experience with ERP software, particularly within the produce industry, is a plus. This role requires attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Path for Growth: This opportunity has the opportunity to promote long-term into Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, and eventually a Director-level role.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Support audits by providing required documentation and assisting senior accountant with auditor’s requests as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- 4 years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution company environment.
- Experience with financial statement consolidations. This role will be responsible for the general ledger for six locations (four being international and two domestic)
Skills
- Proficiency in ERP software (experience in production or manufacturing-related ERP systems mandatory). Famous ERP is a plus.
- Foreign Entities and Foreign Currency a Plus
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and data analysis).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
Compensation:
- $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 15% Bonus Structure Full Benefits
- The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience.
- Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or cash bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
