Job Summary
The Cabin Steward is responsible for greeting guests, assisting with luggage, and providing an orientation to the resort's property and amenities. They will also be responsible for daily cottage services, including laying fires, filling wood boxes, delivering fresh ice and glassware, cleaning cottage porches, and providing light maintenance services.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.
- Engage guests in conversation and actively orient them to the property, amenities, and experiences.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation and bid them farewell at departure.
- Actively listen to and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
- Lift and move guest luggage, hotel supplies, heavy boxes, and maintenance equipment that can weigh more than 50 pounds.
- Place luggage in appropriate areas in guest accommodations or luggage storage areas according to property specifications or guest requests.
- Offer to park cars for guests or assist with unloading and loading luggage from vehicles.
- Set up accommodations according to daily directions and property procedures.
- Use discretion to avoid disturbing guests in rooms or public spaces.
- Be prepared to answer basic questions about the property, activities, etc., or know where to refer guests for answers.
- Work with colleagues to ensure that guests' needs are continually met.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written, with guests and employees.
- Ability to work as a part of a team.
- Active listening and observation skills.
