Mika Coral Gables is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused Host / Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for guests entering our restaurant, you will be responsible for greeting and seating patrons in a welcoming and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Key Responsibilities : Greet guests warmly as they arrive, providing an upbeat and friendly atmosphere. Manage the reservation system, ensuring timely seating and proper table assignments. Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortable. Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times clearly to guests. Answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner, handling reservations and inquiries. Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure seamless guest experiences. Ensure guests’ needs are met promptly and efficiently during their visit. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and surrounding areas. Assist with guest departures, thanking them for their visit and inviting them to return. Handle guest complaints or issues with professionalism, escalating to management when necessary. Assist with special events, promotions, and other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications : Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed in a busy, high-pressure environment. Strong multitasking abilities. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to assist others. Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to navigate a busy restaurant floor while managing various tasks.
