Position Overview :
MIKA is seeking experienced and highly skilled Sous Chefs to assist the Executive Chef and the culinary team to execute Michael White’s culinary vision and standards in our category defining coastal Mediterranean restaurant. The Sous Chef will assist overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu creation, food preparation, staff training and management, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with Michael White and the Executive Chef to create refined dishes that showcase creativity, quality ingredients, and exquisite flavors.
- Ensure consistency and excellence in food presentation, taste, and portion control.
- Manage inventory, procurement, and cost control to optimize food quality and profitability.
- Help recruiting, training, and mentoring kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and teamwork.
- Implement and enforce sanitation and safety procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free kitchen environment.
- Collaborate closely with the restaurant management team to achieve financial goals, enhance guest satisfaction, and uphold the restaurant's reputation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and best practices, continuously striving to elevate the culinary experience offered by the restaurant.
