In-House Videographer / Editor

Mike's Bikes is seeking a skilled in-house videographer and editor to produce high-quality video content that enhances customer education, strengthens brand identity, and effectively showcases our products and cycling expertise.

The ideal candidate is passionate and creative who is excited to shoot and edit daily. You're a talented videographer who is excited by chasing new creative video concepts and bringing them to a screen. In this role, you’ll need to move from fast-paced action videos shot on MTB Trails and winding roads to full studio sets. You need to be a capable shooter confident with any camera, audio equipment, and lighting and able to troubleshoot by yourself on the fly.

We need someone who is comfortable collaborating with a small marketing team to bring a shared vision to life on screen. This role requires the ability to storyboard and shoot original concepts while working with a diverse range of talent—both seasoned on-camera professionals and those who may need your expert guidance to feel at ease in front of the camera. You'll take a hands-on approach, owning the production process of new product launches, ads, testimonials, and social content from start to finish. The ideal candidate ensures seamless content integration across our website, in-store experience, and social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

You'll be responsible for editing all videos and must be comfortable with narrative building, color grading, and sound editing. While bicycle knowledge is a plus, it's not required. You'll also become familiar with Mike's Bikes' company culture, values, and safety program as they apply to your role.

This is a full-time, in-office role based at our Novato, CA headquarters, requiring attendance five days per week. After 60 days, eligibility for remote work (1-2 days per week) may be considered.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Conceptualize, storyboard, and create compelling short and long-form video content
• Direct, shoot, and edit all content: Product and action, in and out of the studio
• Setting up and optimizing lighting effects tailored to each shoots specific requirements
• Tag, upload, and archive videos while managing YouTube content and metadata 
• Work with the marketing team to continuously refine and improve our video standards and processes
• Oversee the work of contractors including voiceover artists, talent, and production

COMPENSATION:

Our salary ranges are determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The base rate for this full-time position is $35-$43 per hour benefits.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

•  Expert knowledge of film equipment - Sony or Canon, GoPro. Cinema camera experience a plus 
• Technical Expertise: Your advanced knowledge of Premiere Pro is how you make your vision come to life
• Technical Proficiency: You know your way around After Effects, Photoshop, Avid or Final Cut 
• Audio & Video skills: You understand the important role of sound, lighting, and multiple camera set-ups
• You are an accomplished team player as much as you are a resourceful self-starter
• You welcome innovation and risk-taking, always eager to learn new technologies
• Experience in the outdoor/sports industry or related field  
• Able to travel 25% of the time

NICE TO HAVE:

•  3 years of experience in video and content creation
• BA in Video Editing, Film, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Drone Pilot certification
• Experience working on larger productions and sets
• Experience shooting photography - portfolio if available

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain while carrying up to 20 lbs
• Ability to film video while walking or while riding in a car
