- Perform Weapons System Safety Engineering tasks as provided in MIL-STD-882E. Example hazard analyses include Preliminary, Functional, System, Subsystem, System of Systems, operations, support, environmental, health, and verification.
- Develop analysis documents containing the worksheets, analysis of the worksheets, recommendations, and conclusions using the format provided by the Customer.
- Develop system safety reports, white papers, supplemental analyses (e.g., Programmatic Environment Safety and Occupational Health Evaluation, Fault Tree, Bent Pin, Sneak Circuit, Software Level of Rigor, etc.), and system safety memorandums as required.
- Develop Hazard Assessment Reports as needed for submission to the PFS and System Safety Working Group (SSWG).
- Participate as a member of the SSWG, Engineering Integrated Production Team, and Programmatic meetings (virtually or actively) as required.
- Provide presentation materials as required for Government safety briefs and reviews.
- Interface with the PFS, subordinate Government safety lead(s), and team members from Government, Academia, and industry. Provide inputs to and/or develop tasking schedules to support Programmatic and System Safety milestones.
- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (computer, software, and electrical), Science, Mathematics, or a Technical (STEM) discipline with three (3) years of related experience in system safety.
- U. S. Navy Weapon Systems experience, Combat Systems Safety, Range System Safety, and Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUV) safety.
- Analytical ability to define problems, collect necessary data, establish facts, and take recommended action based upon applicable established guidelines
- Effective communication, both verbal and written with the ability to work in a team environment
Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
