Overview
The Surgical Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures to a Spanish and English patient population. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage the scheduling, coordination, and communication between patients, surgeons, and surgical administrative staff. This position is a temporary fulltime position which concludes August 1, 2025. Opportunity for permanent fulltime employment will be assessed upon the conclusion of the assignment.
Duties
- Coordinate surgical schedules by working with surgeons and other surgical scheduling staff to ensure timely procedures.
- Manage patient records and maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures, including care plans and pre-operative plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their surgical appointments, pre-operative instructions, and post-operative care.
- Collect patient payments for upcoming surgeries using basic insurance knowledge.
- Utilize electronic health record systems to facilitate job responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for effective communication in Spanish and English with patients and healthcare professionals alike.
This position is a temporary position with an end date of August 1st. The applicant must speak Spanish and English to serve the patient population. Opportunity for a permanent fulltime position following August 1 will be assessed based on employee skill and availability.
