Job Overview
Join our team! We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the orthodontist in delivering high-quality treatment. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, particularly in the field of orthodontics, as well as a commitment to maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Benefits include paid vacation & holidays, yearly bonus, license reimbursement and uniform allowance. The typical schedule is Tuesdays 8:30am-5pm, Wednesday 12:30pm-6:00pm and Friday 7:30am-2:00pm.
Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient experience.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Take accurate impressions of patients’ teeth.
- Manage patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to ensure successful outcomes.
- Support the orthodontic team with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing systems for patient flow.
- Assist with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with a focus on pediatrics or orthodontics being a plus.
- Proficiency in using dental software systems for managing medical records is desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, including HIPAA compliance, is essential for maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages and provide compassionate care.
- Current radiology certification is highly preferred.
