The Engineering Systems Technician role supports Vision and MOOS Engineers in developing complex automation equipment. Responsible for mechanical setup and troubleshooting of Vision and MOOS systems throughout the project lifecycle. Critical in supporting Mikron’s growth by ensuring projects meet customer requirements within budget and schedule constraints.
Requirements:Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Align and adjust camera mechanics during commissioning; verify initial communication with Controls Engineering.
- Troubleshoot and optimize pre-engineered systems, including program flow within Mikron Template for Cognex In-Sight/VisionPro.
- Collaborate with Vision and Controls Engineers to gain experience in industrial vision and object-oriented software development.
- Provide customer support, including travel to customer sites.
- Analyze system performance data and generate reports.
- Support project team during debug, IAT, FAT, and SAT phases.
- Participate in team meetings and follow work instructions and processes.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, & Skills
- High School Diploma with 3 years of automation experience or AS degree with 1 year of automation experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, basic electrical principles, and introductory knowledge of Mechatronic Systems.
- Industrial automation experience and knowledge of the medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
- Understanding of machine vision components and theory, technical mechanical aptitude, and basic programming knowledge in Cognex In-Sight/Vision Pro/OpenCV.
- Familiarity with bar code readers, gantry motion, and networking for vision systems.
- Knowledge of CSV, C , and SQL.
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain a US passport for international travel.
- Must be able to travel as requested internationally up to 50% of the year and work overtime as needed.
- Must have a valid state Driver license
