Role Summary:
The Material Handler position is responsible for staging material, filling hoppers at plastic injection presses, and clearing necessary material to maintain and ensure smooth production of plastic parts. The Material Handler reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.
Schedule
2nd Shift: 2:40 pm to 11:10 pm, Monday - Friday
Areas of Accountability:
- Prepare/stage material for upcoming production runs. Includes mixing material, drying material, setting up necessary equipment, and maintaining correct documentation.
- Fill hoppers at molding presses with material and maintain appropriate level of material as press runs.
- Remove material from the hoppers after jobs are finished. Weigh material when it is removed from hopper, label material, and store.
- Work with and input data into IQMS system.
- Regrind scrap.
- Clean work area, grinders, and other materials to prevent contamination and to ensure a neat and safe workspace.
- Provide material certification information to quality control.
- Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Familiar with scales, pallet jacks, forklifts, grinders, and material dryers.
- Demonstrated ability to follow both verbal and written directions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently with little direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Material handling experience in plastic injection molding.
- Thorough understanding of plastic materials and properties.
- Experience with IQMS.
