Role Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations at our Brooklyn Park facility and external warehouse, including inventory control, receiving, and shipping. This position leads a team of warehouse staff, driving operational efficiency, improving inventory accuracy, and maximizing space utilization. The Warehouse Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Schedule/Status
Exempt: Days, Monday - Friday
Areas of Accountability:
- Supervise Shipping and Inventory departments: Oversee the performance of department personnel to ensure established goals are met and/or exceeded; Direct, coach, and develop department personnel. Reward and discipline when necessary; Evaluate training needs and coordinate and/or conduct required training; Provide leadership and hold personnel accountable to achieve department metrics for safety, on-time shipments and inventory accuracy; Submit and approve/deny PTO requests. Report attendance and other personnel related measures as required.
- Design, develop, and implement programs, policies, and procedures to improve/maintain inventory accuracy throughout operations and maximize use of space; develop and provide training as required.
- Monitor inventory levels and correct problems when they are discovered so that inventory accuracy is maintained.
- Oversee performance of daily shipping duties; ensure accurate and timely shipments.
- Collaborate with materials and production departments to ensure accurate inventory.
- Complete all required documentation and reporting. Ensure that it is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide suggestions to enhance the overall effectiveness of the inventory/receiving department. Implement and monitor effectiveness of initiatives for warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, shipping, receiving, warehouse, and/or related field. Inventory Control experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced, team environment. Previous experience managing supervisory-level staff.
- Highly analytical with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing across multiple departments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects.
- Strong computer skills – previous ERP system experience is required.
- Strong math skills.
- Familiar with forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IQMS software experience.
- Experience leading change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
