Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Butcher/Meat Cutters to join our team. You will be responsible for slaughtering, cutting, and packaging beef and pork for custom processing clients, as well as preparing meat products for sale in a retail setting, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and providing excellent customer service. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Pay is based on experience.
Duties
- Process beef and pork from slaughter to packaging
- Ensure all products produced are high quality and meet company standards
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Provide excellent customer service
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of meat products and tools/equipment
- Stay updated on industry trends and new cutting techniques to continuously improve skills and knowledge
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience as a butcher or in a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to handle various types of knives safely
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to stand for long periods, lift heavy meat products and perform repetitive tasks
