Education :
- Required, Minimum of Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance or a closely related field and 1 year directly related experience; and / or evidence of equivalent education and experience necessary to perform the requirements of the work.
Work Experience :

Oral and written communication skillsEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, department heads, and representatives of other agenciesCustomer service and human relation skills in assisting, dealing with and applying proper phone etiquette and informational assistance in dealing with employees, agencies, the public and department staff concerning addressing and processing accounts payable, account questions, etc.Prioritizing duties and carrying out assignments with a minimum of supervisionPreparing accounting reports and formsApplying and following district accounting and record keeping operations in the maintenance of and processing of district financial records or reportsBasic math / accounting skills needed to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and / or decimalsPerforming tasks requiring attention to detail, precision, and accuracyUsing and operating computers and applying office productivity software such as word processing, spreadsheet, database or customized software utilized by the departmentP erforming work assignments requiring attention to detail, precision and accuracy and in accordance with set deadlinesBalancing and reconciling accounts, statements, and general ledgerPreference for previous governmental and / or K-12 school business office experience including Uniform Financial Accounting Records System (UFARS)Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs accounts payable function for the DistrictProcesses invoices for payment
Enters and maintains accounts payable data and information into the accounting system and ensure records are current and accurateMaintains vendor files and prepares 1099 records / information. Mails 1099's to vendorsProcesses tax exempt and W-9 formsCompiles data and information for year-end auditsPerforms accounts receivable function for the DistrictPrepares deposit
Records receipts in financial softwarePrepares invoices to other entitiesEnsure records are current, accurate and reconcileCompiles data and information for year-end auditsSupports the Business Manager with compliance reports, audit, financial statements, and other tasks as neededSupport the District Office Staff with day-to-day operations and special projectsOther duties as assignedSee the attached job description for more details.
Hours : 40 hours / week
Monday-Friday, 8 hours / day
12-month position
Salary :
22.00 - $24.00 hourly rate, based on education and experience.
