Job Summary:
Build machines, equipment and their subassemblies and following the mechanical layout and the general assembly layouts and other written and verbal specification.
Essential/Key Functions:
- Uses necessary prints/drawings, tools, and specifications to build/assemble machines, equipment, and subassemblies following all quality and safety standards.
- Reports labor hours correctly and in a timely manner.
- Practices good communication and interacts professionally with others in the plant
- Produces quality work in the time frame that consistently meets or exceeds set expectations.
- Operates overhead cranes and any other equipment needed to move large machine parts or to complete the job.
- Complete lockout / Tag out on down machines, as necessary.
- Adheres to the 5-S standards in the work area keeping areas clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized.
- Communicates any discrepancies or errors on prints, materials lists, and etc.
- Interacts with the teams on other shifts to obtain positive results on productivity and quality.
Safety Training:
- Complete safety training on the use of all fall protection and follow all requirements when applicable.
- Completes overhead crane safety training.
- Complete lockout / Tag out training using all required items when performing lockout.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent understanding of basic math and reading/writing skills. Or 2 years of experience.
- Knowledge of basic mechanics and ability to read some mechanical drawings.
- Ability to use tools and torque wrenches.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situation, priority changes, or new job assignments
