Description
The position will be responsible for the store’s basic maintenance and repairs, including department equipment and store work orders. This position will coordinate with store management and the Corporate Maintenance Team to ensure facilities and equipment are well-maintained. The main purpose of this position is to maximize the customer experience in the store and maximize the life and effectiveness of store equipment and fixtures.
Schedule will be determined by the Store’s Management Team.
Location mostly at the individual store, but will require occasional travel to other locations
Position reports to Store Management Team, as well as Corporate Facilities Maintenance Team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Store Equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on store cooking equipment
- Perform scheduled cleanings on refrigerated cases
- Perform scheduled maintenance and cleaning on Lobster tanks
- Perform scheduled maintenance and cleaning on all other equipment as determined by Store Management Team and Corporate Facilities Maintenance Team
Hvac Ductwork and Store Fans
- Cleaning and Dusting of Fans
- Cleaning and dusting supply and return grilles
Store Lighting
- Replacing light bulbs that are burned out
- Cleaning light fixtures
Plumbing
- Basic plumbing troubleshooting and repairs, including restroom fixtures
- Unclogging drains
Shopping Carts
- Periodic (weekly or more) pressure washing of shopping carts
- Ensuring carts are clean and free of dirt/stickers
- Ensuring wheels are free from debris
- Replacing damaged wheels
- Replacing batteries on locking mechanisms, when necessary
Store Utility/Stock Carts
- Periodic pressure washing of carts
- Ensuring carts are clean and free of dirt/stickers
- Ensuring wheels are free from debris
- Replacing damaged wheels
Floor Cleaning
- Ensure proper operation on Floor Cleaning Equipment, daily.
- Make proper repairs, where possible, to floor cleaning equipment
- Participate in Floor Care for the store with floor scrubber and Floor Buffer
Rooftop
- Inspect rooftop weekly
- Maintain clean rooftop, free of debris
- Ensure roof drains are clean and free of debris
- Ensure condensate lines are properly secured and draining appropriately
- Ensure Roof Access remains locked with padlock
Other Maintenance or Tasks
- This position will report to the Store Management Team and the Corporate Facilities Maintenance Team and will need to carry out the directives of both parties while maintaining proper communication between parties, when necessary.
Safety
- Ensure a safe working environment for Milam’s staff and vendors
- Ensure a safe shopping environment for customers
- Utilize proper equipment and chemicals, in accordance with instructions, to perform tasks
- Utilize proper caution signage when performing task
- Block off areas, as appropriate, to avoid injury by others
- Use proper protective equipment, when necessary, to avoid injury
