What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach position at Milan Area Schools?
Job Goal: To coach, monitor, communicate, and develop young athletes in the Milan softball program. Take direction from the varsity coach and lead the JV team to the needs and wants of our program goals.
1. Teach and coach the fundamentals of the sport of volleyball, good sportsmanship, leadership, respect, fair play, the importance of academics, and relate to and inspire confidence in students.
2. Follows established school eligibility procedures for MI-ISAA and Milan Area Schools eligibility, collect physicals, parent permission forms and file the forms with the Athletic Director and athletic trainer.
3. Complete ME-ISAA online coaches meetings regarding rules, concussions, etc. if needed.
4. Supervises regular practice sessions and games and is responsible for the conduct of participants at practice, games (before, during, after) and while traveling as a member of the team.
5. Rides the bus to and from contests, staying until the last student leaves from the contest.
6. Attend the athletic banquet, have access to FinalForms app, and manage FinalForms communication and team information
7. Responsible for facility setup in preparing playing areas (facility) for all scheduled games and practices.
8. Attends coaches meetings when called or scheduled by Milan High School administration and/or Huron League
9. Help with off-season needs. Help with workouts and open gyms.
10. Adheres to school district policies and procedures.
