What are the responsibilities and job description for the ADON - Assistant Director of Nursing position at Milan Health Care Center?
ASSSITANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Qualifications:
· Must be a registered nurse or have taken state board if GPN.
· Must be trained on the unit assigned.
· Must have CPR certification and keep current.
· CPIcertified.
Job Duties Include But Not limited To:
1. Will be responsible for orientation for all licensed nurses for assigned unit and completing the orientation checklist.
2. Will be responsible for covering staff call-ins/shortages of licensed nurses.
3. On call for all behaviors or emergency transport/discharge or death or significant change in condition for resident.
4. Will be on call for assigned shift.
5. Will monitor/do monthly chart audits for all licensed nurse documentation:
· Nurses notes
· Admission/quarterly assessments
· Medication Administration Record (MAR) (no holes, all prn’s documented with results)
· All ADL sheets completed-if not work with QLA to determine where the setback is
· Monthly Summaries
· Review Labs/X-rays to assure all completed
· Assure TB testing is done on all new admissions and annually
· Review initial care plan and assure all areas are completed (i.e.: elopement risk-photo in book)
· Physician Orders are followed through.
· Treatment sheets document wound care and wound progression
· Meal audit completion (no holes)
6. Report via telephone system for the unit each shift any issues or concerns with resident and or their condition.
7. CQI meetings on areas in need of improvement.
8. Participate in Interview process for new staff.
9. Will assure Chain of Command is followed.
10. Will work closely with the DON to assure all needs and concurs are communicated
11. Will supervise unit and all nursing staff daily activities, duties, etc…
