What are the responsibilities and job description for the Harm Reduction Manager position at Milan Puskar Health Right?
Job Summary:
Milan Puskar Health Right’s LIGHT Project provides low barrier harm reduction and syringe services within the confines of West Virginia state law. The Harm Reduction Manager (HRM) will be responsible for general oversight of the harm reduction program and its harm reduction clinics. The HRM reports directly to the executive director. The HRM supervises harm reduction staff, on duty medical providers for clinics, social workers, volunteers, and students.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance of the programs policy and procedures
- Assists will application of state licensure application to OHFLAC
- Engages local government body’s, organizations, and the community
- Facilitates monthly volunteer training
- Prepare and submit monthly data reports
- Provides or arranges staff training for peer recovery specialists
- Works within budget guidelines to ensure supplies are available
- Assists with fundraising and grant writing
- Supervises LIGHT Project staff, volunteers, and students
- Provides one on one harm reduction services
- Provides education about harm reduction, infectious disease, OD prevention, etc. on a local and state level
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Degree in/working toward a degree in health, or a helping related discipline
· 3 years’ experience in management and supervision
· Knowledge of recovery process and issues related to Mental Health
· Knowledge about working with challenging populations, including but not limited to people with psychiatric conditions, substance use disorder, and people experiencing homelessness
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Computer skills, basic excel skills
· A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their commitment to Person Centered Care and the value of lived experience
