Position Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree and two years’ experience or six to eight years’ experience.
Experience/Skills/Abilities: Two to four years’ experience in technical management. Must demonstrate and maintain proficiency in SolidWorks®.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs and supervises drafters
- Supervises the creation and maintenance of drafting standards and systems
- Assigns work to drafters and checks their work
Management and Organization:
- Responsible for timely performance on drafting maintenance projects
- Coordinates with and resolves problems for manufacturing facilities
Communication:
- Must be able to communicate with management, peers and subordinates to discuss assignments
Employee Development:
- Instructs drafters on department policies and procedures
- Prepares performance review forms and directs the distribution of the forms to supervisory personnel
- Responsible for technical training and development of drafters
Department Standards:
- Responsible for promoting standard work procedures in areas of:
- Document vaulting
- Notifications to those affected on Engineering Change Orders
- Maintaining project history records
- Coordination with customer standards
- Drawing standards
Achievement of Excellence:
- Responsible for monitoring and minimizing drafting inaccuracies
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages and directs Drafting Systems Manager, Drafters and Records Clerks. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Hours: As required to accomplish duties but normally less than 50 hours per week
