General Information:
Job title: Transportation Driver
Schedules Available: Part-time 2, 12-20 hours per pay period; shifts/hours vary
Weekend rotation: no weekends
Holiday rotation: no holidays
Position Summary:
The Transportation Driver position provides safe, timely transport to individuals in need of a ride to medical appointments and treatments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Walks around van to observe visually any defects, and checks operating system-brakes, horn, windshield wipers, lights, first-aid kits, emergency flashers, and door-opening devices once per week
- Picks up patients at home or other facility. Provides whatever assistance is required for boarding of patient and any caregiver. Makes sure wheelchair and passenger are properly secured before starting van.
- Depending on route, may pick up several patients for a common destination
- Upon arrival at medical facility, assists patients in leaving van and reaching proper offices or treatment areas. Checks van to ensure that no personal items have been left behind.
- Provides first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport. Immediately notifies emergency personnel and dispatcher if skilled assistance is required. Completes report at end of day's run.
- Reports traffic accidents immediately to dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed. Assists injured persons from first-aid kit until these services arrive. Completes company accident report.
- Complete trip tickets and scan into the electronic record
- Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 years of related work experience preferred.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
- Must be MBMC insurable.
- First Aid/BLS certification and seizure training required.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required

- Excellent driving skills required.
- Ability to maintain clear documentation for insurance coverage.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
