General Information:
Job title: Unit Coordinator
Schedule: Part Time 2, 45 hrs/pay period, 3:00pm-8:00pm
Weekend rotation: every other weekend, 8:00am-4:00pm
Holiday rotation: every other holiday
Position Summary:
The Unit Coordinator position performs administrative and clerical tasks as needed, including responding to patients' inquiries and concerns, scheduling appointments, sorting medical records, verifying insurance details, and assisting the physician on the care plans and patients' activities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Schedule patients for appointments.
- Complete patient registrations, including patient insurance information.
- Receive incoming calls.
- Scan information into EHR.
- Contact and coordinate patient transfers to higher level of care facilities, admissions, or follow up appointments for patients.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge.
- Maintain patient charts.
- Maintain a professional, clean, and organized workstation. Ensure all medical record paper charts and documented forms are collected and sent to health information.
- Plan, organize, and implement non-nursing functions to facilitate workflow and enhance unit productivity. Providing customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
- Order supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 years of related work experience preferred.
- Experience working in the medical industry preferred.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong critical thinking and multitasking competency.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
