Position Title: Temporary Resource Specialist
Status: Hourly position, regularly scheduled to work 40 hours week, Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Salary: $21.00 per hour

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected hourly pay rate for this position is $21.00/hr. In an effort to increase equity and to avoid unfair bias historically associated with salary negotiations, we do not participate in salary negotiations outside of this stated starting salary range.
How You'll Help
The primary function of a Resource Specialist is to administer the processes for strengthening and maintaining the 211 Database, by working closely with 211 agency partners to add and maintain programs via targeted outreach and vetting of existing records. The Resource Specialist will help to ensure an accurate and up-to-date listing of available resources across the state of Colorado.
Essential Responsibilities
- Updates and maintains the quality and accuracy of the 211 Database as defined by department standards
- Assesses gaps/needs of the database and assess programs that need/should be in the database
- Gathers information needed to produce concise, grammatically accurate, and informative written content through outbound calls, agency visits, email inquiries, etc.
- Is the point of contact for agencies that want to be included in the 211 Database, to include mailing/e-mailing the appropriate inclusion forms as well as the appropriate follow-up agency documentation
- Coordinates and delivers technical assistance and training for external agency partners on database updates and verification process
- Attends monthly external meetings, as assigned, to keep an updated record of changes
- Acts as an organization liaison at community fairs, meetings, and presentations within and outside of normal business hours
Additional Responsibilities
- Works within deadlines to complete assigned projects and new initiatives in a quality and timely manner
- Required to assist in disaster/crisis response activities within and outside of normal business hours
- Must be able to telecommute as assigned
What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma or GED required
- 2 years of relevant experience preferred working in a contact center or human services related field providing customer service
Specials Skills/Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, staff and community leaders
- Demonstrated experience completing assignments and projects on time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and shift gears quickly to accommodate change
- Exceptional written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive pieces in a variety of lengths and formats
- High-level command of grammar and spelling
- Strong editing skills
- Attention to detail; ability to check each item or task carefully
- Ability to work independently with little supervision effectively using resources
- Demonstrated experience writing concise, logical, grammatically correct descriptions suitable for publication
- Demonstrated experience utilizing a data management system
- Ability to sit and operate a computer for long periods of time
Computer Skills:
- Demonstrated Experience working with Microsoft Office and Excel
Working Environment: Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Shift hours may vary by day of the week. The Resource Specialists are required to assist in crisis response activities, which may include working on weeknights and/or weekends per assigned shifts. Resource Specialists are also asked to act as an organization liaison at community fairs, meetings, and presentations within and outside of normal business hours.
Physical Activities: Ability to operate a computer and phone for extended periods.
