Job Title: Winter Light Festival Volunteer Manager
Direct Report: Operations Director
Job Brief
The Winter Light Festival Volunteer Manager is a part time position, who will primarily be working with the operations director on the volunteer program planning and management for the event. This position is both remote and in-person working in an office warehouse environment and in the field.
Required Dates on Site at Event
Feb 3 8, 2025
Feb 14 17, 2025
Other dates pre and post event are flexible.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
General Program Management
- Implement volunteer recruitment strategies with Festival Communication Team
- Manage volunteer onboarding and training
- Establish and track program metrics
- Manage volunteer database and documentation
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments
- Develop and maintain volunteer policies and procedures
Volunteer Management
- Build and maintain partnerships with groups and individual volunteers
- Provide ongoing communications and preparations to all registered volunteers
- Work with other festival departments on volunteer needs and management
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Maintain volunteer records and documentation
- Provide onsite management to volunteers (or volunteer leads)
- Provide ongoing reports of recruitment and actuals
Required Qualifications
- Any experience in volunteer management or related event field
- Excellent communication skills through multiple digital platforms and in person
- Some general management experience
- Some risk assessment and mitigation knowledge, as it pertains to event production
- Familiarity with spreadsheets (gSheets primarily) as core organizational tool
- Excellent independent time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Google Workspace and Google Sheets
- Familiarity with project management / communication systems (Slack, Asana)

- Drivers license
- Mobile phone with data plan
General Hourly Commitments
- Estimated general weekly hours: 4-10 hours
- On Site Days: 6 to 12 hours
