Milea Buick GMC Subaru is HIRING NOW for an Experienced Full-Time Automotive Service Writer to join our team and provide top-notch customer service in our busy service department.
As a Service Writer, you’ll be the bridge between our customers and our service team, ensuring a smooth and efficient repair process from start to finish. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include greeting customers, assessing their vehicle concerns, scheduling service appointments, and providing accurate repair estimates. You’ll maintain clear communication with both customers and technicians, keeping clients informed on the status of their vehicles while ensuring all service work is documented properly. Additionally, you’ll assist in managing workflow, processing repair orders, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities—Automotive Service Writer:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive service experience
- Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Accurately document customer concerns and relay them to service technicians
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended services, repairs, and associated costs
- Prepare accurate estimates for repairs and maintenance services
- Schedule service appointments and manage shop workflow efficiently
- Keep customers informed on the status of their vehicle and any changes to the service timeline
- Work closely with service technicians to ensure timely and accurate repairs
- Process payments and handle customer invoices
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dealership service offerings, warranties, and recall information
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure a high level of satisfaction
- Promote additional services and preventative maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations
- Maintain organized and accurate service records for all customers
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Qualifications—Automotive Service Writer:
- Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or in a similar customer service role in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive repairs, services, and maintenance schedules.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear and professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in using service management software and dealership CRM systems.
- Basic knowledge of warranty policies and manufacturer service guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with service technicians and other team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
