We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. This role is essential for ensuring accurate billing and collections for medical services provided to patients. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate timely payments and resolve any billing discrepancies.
Responsibilities
- Review and process patient accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Utilize medical terminology to ensure correct billing practices.
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Conduct medical collection activities in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation related to billing.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing information.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding systems and regulations, including DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Strong understanding of medical collection processes.
- Experience with managing medical records effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
