Our Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will be a part of a talented and collaborative HR leadership team who will effectively serve as an HR subject matter expert for our retail automotive-based organization.
The HR Business Partner works with the Divisional and Store Leadership teams to strengthen employee and organizational capabilities. This role will be responsible for advising and coaching on all aspects of people management; Leadership Development, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Change management et al. The HRBP will provide management consultation on employee matters and resolve complex employee relations issues as well as work with our HR leadership team on projects which will have direct organizational impact.
The hands-on and strategic approach ensures the HRBP to successfully monitor the "pulse" of our employees, while having a high level of employee engagement to ensure employee retention as well as support of all corporate and HR objectives.
We are hiring a strategic and empathetic HRBP who can work autonomously and balance competing short-term priorities with long-term strategic initiatives. This position will be ONSITE only in the NOVA/Annapolis & Baltimore, MD area potentially overseeing 10 retail roof tops and 900 FTE's; 70% travel to local locations as needed.
Essential Duties include:
- Responds to and conducts investigations into employee related matters and disputes, while keeping appropriate management informed and maintaining confidentiality.
- Builds and establishes strong relationships with all levels of management and create a partnership to drive employee engagement and support.
- Be a partner in delivering corporate vision, initiatives and programs to the division to reinforce standardization and uniformed messaging.
- Lead and collaborates with managers on performance management, performance improvement and discipline issues.
- Serve as a true business partner, with proactive and strategic thinking, be able to discuss/tackle complex business issues with managers and translate business needs into action plans and solutions.
- Identify ways to develop and improve policies and procedures, assist with development and implementation of initiatives, procedures, and protocols that align our workforce with the strategic goals of the Company.
- Assess needs and performance gaps and develop effective trainings and change management initiatives to meet the organization's needs.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and State labor law and legislative requirements/mandates.
Qualifications:
- Extensive employee relations experience.
- BA/BS in Human Resources or 4 plus years of related field experience in a retail business. Equivalent technical training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- SHRM CP or SCP preferred.
- Strong ability to work autonomously and navigate short and long term projects.
- Proven skills in building and maintaining professional relationships throughout an organization.
- Strong time management skills and ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and assignments with little supervision. Must be self-directed and detail oriented in completing assigned tasks.
- Must demonstrate strong written and verbal skills.
- Required to maintain absolute confidentially in all business matters.
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems. WorkDay experience preferred.
