Warehouse Associate / Driver

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Warehouse Associate/Driver at Miles Ahead Distribution Inc in Richmond, VA. The role involves tasks such as shipping & receiving, packing, unloading, forklift operation, and using a pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service throughout deliveries and/or pick-up of parts and other products
• Unload products from shipping vehicles and store at the appropriate storage area in the warehouse
• Provide support to the warehouse operations and manager
• Follow manufacturing procedures and product formulation of products made in house
• Delivery function accounts for about 50% of time
• Pull and organize customer orders for delivery from warehouse by part number and quantity as directed by picking ticket in priority assigned
• Provide excellent customer service to all customers, ensuring the order being delivered is correct, and maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct
• Load materials into vehicle and install bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Maintain a clean vehicle and operate vehicle in a safe manner daily
• Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets/skids, platforms, or lifting devices
• Stock and maintain inventory items in designated warehouse storage areas
• Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Report all vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages immediately to manager
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to manager
• He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by his/her manager and office executives 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• Minimum of 1 year of general warehouse experience preferred
• Valid drivers' license with clean driving record
• Physical Demands: Handling or carrying up to 60 lbs.
• Communicating: Conveying information to others in an effective manner
• Ability to follow instructions to completion
• Mathematics: Ability to solve simple equations and add/subtract inventory; Understand case quantities, units of measure, pallet counts, and case packaging. 
• Critical Thinking: Use logic and reasoning to identify production problems and delivery challenges and provide solutions
• Proper protective equipment (PPE) will be worn when required and necessary
• Forklift operator preferred

Day Range & Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Part Time – 20-30 hours per week

Wage

• $15 an hour (non-exempt position)
