Miles Mediation and Arbitration is an Alternative Dispute Resolution Firm with over 150 neutrals in 12 locations throughout the United States. The Business Development Manager (BDM) acts to increase exposure and recognition for Miles and its neutrals. The BDM collaborates with neutrals and staff and is accountable for the successful implementation of stated business development objectives to drive case count and revenue. The BDM drives outreach to existing and potential clients (e.g., law firms) and to other key stakeholders (e.g., corporations).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Builds practices of neutrals through business development strategic plans and resulting activities.
- Partners with appropriate managers to develop and execute business development strategies in Miles markets, conducts competitive intelligence research, and monitors results.
- Liaises with law firms and companies to promote Miles; plans, produces, and moderates roundtables, legal and ADR educational programs, webinars, and other events to raise the profile of Miles and it’s neutrals.
- Works with neutrals and the marketing team to develop marketing strategies and create content including articles, blogs, social media postings, and updates to panelist biographies.
- Maintains documentation of market and neutral business development plans; monitors results regularly to adapt plans to drive goals.
- Acts as a key stakeholder in neutral launches in conjunction with the marketing and operations team.
- Liaises with legal organizations to arrange for Miles exposure via event attendance, programs, leadership opportunities, and/or sponsorships. Occasional travel is required to provide coverage or assist with hosting events.
- Prepares and manages annual business development budget for assigned markets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Management, or related field.
- 3-5 years of working in administration within business development.
- 1-3 years of working in legal and client service role. (preferred)
- Proficient and competent in technology systems, specific skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Zoom and Dropbox. NetSuite experience desirable.
- Understanding of the legal industry including court processes and legal terminology (preferred)
