What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Teacher position at MILES OF SMILES CHILDCARE?
Miles of Smiles Childcare is currently seeking an amazing teacher for our infant class. This position requires someone with a nurturing personality, patience, and has a strong desire to work with 6 weeks-12 month olds daily.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment that stimulates the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of preschool-aged children.
- Follow a consistent schedule, which includes small and large motor activities, skill development, meals, and effective transitions between activities.
- Develop lesson plans and activities that are aligned with the Louisiana Birth-to-Five Early Learning Standards.
- Develop individual goals for toddlers, document ongoing assessment of progress and facilitate transition.
- Actively supervise toddlers and always maintain the appropriate staff -to- child ratio.
- Communicate daily with parents regarding the milestones and activities of their child.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials
- Participate in monthly staff meetings.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least one year of experience working in childcare or early childhood center
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must have strong communication skills to interact with parents, co-workers, and students
- Must have an understanding of child development and child behaviors
- Must have a valid CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Must be a team player and willing to learn
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
