We seek an experienced attorney to join the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, focused on commercial real estate. This attorney position will work closely with, and support partners representing property owners and developers. The position will represent business entities in various disputes, workouts and defaults under commercial leases and related agreements. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in real estate litigation, with experience at all stages of litigation, from propounding and responding to written discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing for and handling mediations and trial. The role will also include drafting and negotiating lease amendments, settlement agreements, and related documents. In office and in court presence is expected, in connection with actions pending in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Previous commercial leasing experience is preferred. This position can be based in our Tysons Corner, VA or Rockville, MD office.
Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with others as part of a team. We require a J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service. We are particularly interested in candidates who will support a busy practice and who work well under expedited deadlines. Maryland Bar admission is required; and D.C. and Virginia Bar admission, or eligibility to be admitted on motion, is required.
