Characteristics of a Milestone Staff Accountant:

In addition to the above, we are looking for a candidate who also uniquely fulfills the specific needs of our Staff Accountant role.

We are looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get down to brass tacks with the numbers. This organized and detail-oriented individual will help maintain a high standard of reporting and record-keeping for the company.

 Primary Functions & Responsibilities: 

• Prepare monthly consolidated balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books
• Monitor and review bank statements and prepare bank reconciliations monthly
• Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Prepare invoices and reconcile accounts receivable monthly
• Assist in necessary tax filings
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform monthly recording and annual financial statement preparation and annual financial statement preparation
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and or related field 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• General banking knowledge

 Preferred Additional Skills:

• NetSuite knowledge preferred

Job Specs & Details:

• Headquartered in Buffalo, New York, must work in the Buffalo office hybrid only 
• Hours: Monday–Friday 9am-5pm ET
• Salary commensurate with experience
