What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager position at Milestone Development?
Overview
To provide management oversight for all phases of any Milestone construction projects, including material procurement, subcontractor bidding, coordinating employees, subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with quality, on schedule and within budget.
Ideal Candidate will have an analytical mind with strong organizational and leadership skills. Must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Creates construction budget and schedule for new projects.
- Oversees site planning and designs
- Facilitates municipal plan meetings and rezoning process.
- Responsible for administration of construction contracts and obtaining all necessary permits and licenses.
- Monitors superintendents to ensure on-site construction runs smoothly. This includes on-site visits, reviewing daily reports, and managing change orders.
- Tracks and controls construction budget and schedule for each project.
- Manages contractor requests and any modifications of plans that seem indicated.
- Plans, implements, tracks and closeout / turnover of construction projects.
- Conducts project meetings and onsite visits to evaluate progress.
- Generates and issues regular internal and external project reporting through project management software.
- Proactively identifies changes in project scope and ensures appropriate measures are taken.
- Quickly resolve issues that arise throughout construction.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong estimating and project take-off skills
- Ability to solve problems quickly and independently
- Strong negotiating skills
- Strong computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Dispute Resolution
- Financial and Job Cost Accounting Knowledge
- 3 years of construction project management experience
