Milestone Project Services is currently seeking a Laser Scan Tech to join our team.
Position Type: Full Time
Location: Baton Rouge, LA office
Work Environment: Site Visits and Office
Physical Demands: Heavy (21-50 lbs handled frequently)
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to client sites including offshore
Responsibilities:
- Perform 3D laser scanning.
- Mobilize scanners and survey tools for active projects.
- Perform data upload, processing and registration tasks using software such as Faro Scene and Autodesk ReCap to produce 3D deliverables.
- Set up sites with targets, plan scan placement and capture the necessary data for the job scope.
- Visit job sites such as petrochemical plants, offshore platforms and construction sites as the job scope demands.
- Communicate on a daily basis with project managers.
- Work independently or within a 2-3 person crew when required.
- Maintain and ensure security for all equipment and accessories.
Requirements:
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs with the equipment when needed.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Must be able to walk with the equipment at client sites for extended periods.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.
- Attention to detail.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a TWIC or ability to pass a background check to obtain one.
Experience Preferred:
- Previous experience with Faro Scene and Autodesk ReCap
- 3 years of laser scanning experience.
