Position Profile: The Bookkeeper/Accountant works with the Director of Finance and Administration to maintain the overall flow of the finance and administrative office tasks. The performance of these tasks supports the personnel and overall organization of Milestone such that the programs can deliver compassionate and supportive services to our clients and community.
Qualifications Required: A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, an
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a plus. One year experience in office setting required, experience in a nonprofit sector a plus. Microsoft Suites and QuickBooks experience required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Finance and Administration in the performance of accounting and bookkeeping functions – including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, reconciliations, administration of the budget etc.
- Work with programs to compile data and assist with billing to Maine Care, City of Portland, and other entities.
- Shows patience and courtesy when dealing with people
- Excellent accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Respect patient and employee confidentiality, always
Perform general office duties, as well as other assignments from the Director of Finance and Administration.
$33 to $39 hourly
