BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS: This position is subject to a third-party position specific background check in accordance with Milford policies and procedures.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales Representative will play a key role in generating revenue by working alongside the Outside Sales Team to process and manage customer purchase and rental opportunities. Works with Branch staff to ensure adequate product levels are available for customer purchase. Develops business across multiple sales channels. Identifies customer needs through consultation and creates sales quotes/orders to meet customer requirements. Maintains customer relationships through communication, support, and high-level customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Works with the Branch Manager and Account Rep Team to recognize and cultivate potential sales leads from existing and prospective customers.
2. Responds to all incoming customer requests via telephone or email.
3. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products and services and how they can benefit our customers.
4. Process and maintain customer orders, as well as vendor purchase orders.
5. Maintain a strong customer relationship after the sale through follow up meetings or phone calls.
6. Develop clear communication channels for new and existing customers.
7. Identify customer product needs and create sales quotes/orders.
8. Develop clear and effective written proposals based on customer requests.
9. Partner with the Regional Director of Sales and Account Rep Teams regarding customer account activity, invoicing requirements, and customer feedback on products and services.
10. Partners with clients, vendors, Credit and A/R to quickly resolve customer service issues.
11. Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Pipe, valve, and fitting experience a plus, but not required.
2. Self-starting personality.
3. Ability to learn, present and support multiple product lines.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Business Central or other customer relationship management (CRM) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
5. Strong time management, organization, and ability to multitask.
6. Ability to interact with decision makers at all levels of an organization.
7. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Effective verbal and written communications skills.
9. Skilled at handling large volumes of phones calls and emails.
10. Knowledge of general safety skills.
11. Ability to travel (10% or less).
12. Excellent customer service in person and on the phone.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION:
1. Associate degree with a concentration in Business Management preferred.
2. Two or more years’ experience in an oilfield supply, customer service or a sales support position, required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Sales counter/Office.
2. Enclosed warehouse and outdoor storage yard.
3. Office environment with frequent interruptions.
4. Occasional high noise level, dust, fumes such as fuel or exhaust may be encountered.
5. Sometimes exposed inclement weather while working outside or driving vehicle.
6. Occasionally exposed to bright or dim lighting conditions while driving.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimal travel may be required. (10% or less).
2. Ability to stand, sit, stoop, reach with arms, kneel and push/pull/lift 50 pounds.
3. Ability to walk long distances in rough terrain.
4. Stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing ramps or stairs.
5. Ability to wear PPE.
6. Reaching overhead, at or below shoulder level.
7. Keyboarding.
8. Driving (and ability to maintain valid driver’s license and pass MVR in accordance with insurance requirements)
9. Sitting for long periods of time.
10. Standing for extended periods of time.
SCHEDULE: Available during normal operating hours with the ability to work extended hours when required by Regional Director of Sales. “On Call” duties required.
