What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Structural position at Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc.?
The Director of Structural is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the design and construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that all structural elements of a project are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
**Please note this role will follow our hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office at either our downtown Chicago office or Lombard office.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing budgets for structural projects.
- Developing and implementing design standards and guidelines for structural projects.
- Managing and supervising a team of engineers, and contractors.
- Overseeing the construction process and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Conducting site visits and inspections to ensure quality control.
- Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure that project requirements are met.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with external partners and vendors.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, or a related field from an ABET accredited institutionrequired
- 10 years of Structural Management experience within the AEC industry
- P.E. License, required
- S.E. License, required
The actual base pay depends upon many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
