We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer I to join our collaborative MEP team in Chicago. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design and analysis of mechanical systems for a variety of building types. You’ll work alongside seasoned engineers and industry experts, contributing to projects from concept through construction while developing your technical skills and professional knowledge.
The Mechanical Engineer I plays a key role within our MEP team, supporting the design and execution of a wide range of projects under direct supervision. The role applies fundamental engineering principles to help deliver quality solutions and support project objectives. Work includes both design tasks and project coordination, always under the direct guidance of senior staff or clients. **Please note this role will follow our hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office at either our downtown Chicago office or Lombard office.
\n- Design to client and regulatory requirements.
- Keep management advised of all quality, schedule and budget variances.
- Shop drawing review and disposition.
- Prepare project documents, reports and maintain project files.
- CAD, AutoCAD, REVIT experience.
- Manage and track the project schedules to meet client expectations.
- Understand client standards and maintaina high level of quality in adherence to those standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, municipalities, consultants, etcon a daily basis to coordinate projects and design requirements.
- Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
- Interacts with other team members.
- Possesses effective oral and written skills.
- Assists with client, customer, or official contracts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
- Must be adaptable to new concepts and have the ability to learn them quickly.
- Entrepreneurial/business minded individual is preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Four-year technical degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- EIT license preferred.
