What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Civil Engineer position at Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc.?
Our talented Aviation Department is looking to add a Senior Civil Engineer to their team that will be based out of the Chicago area!
As a Civil Engineer, you will be an integral lead, in partnership with your peers, to design initiatives. Typical design work includes site civil, drainage, roads and streets, runway, taxiway and underground utilities at some of the busiest airports in the US.
\n- Establish civil engineering design standards applicable to project requirements in conjunction with project manager
- Perform Phase I and Phase II engineering design to client and regulatory requirements
- Keep Milhouse management advised of all quality, schedule and budget variances in a timely manner
- Data and document entry into various platforms
- Report safety, health and quality issues to management
- Maintain project design and correspondence files
- Coordinate completion of quality control reviews of reports, plans, specifications, and other deliverables in conjunction with project manager
- Coordinate with outside utility agencies during design and construction
- Provide support during construction phase with design changes, responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings
- Support the Project Manager as directed
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
- Familiar with design software including but not limited to XP SWMM, EPA SWMM,ProjectWise and BIM 360/ACC
- Familiar with project or construction management software including but not limited to Deltek VantagePoint, eBuilder and Procore
- 7 - 15 years of design experience
- PE license required
- Past or present experience within aviation design build is advantageous
- Experience having managed medium to large size projects
- DOT project experience advantageous
- Site Civil experience advantageous, especially with large commercial or institution developments
