What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Mililani Town Association?
Summary:
Provide customers with prompt service and quality products while maintaining a clean and friendly environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare café menu items by using standard facility equipment and following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques
- Handle cash and credit card transactions
- Unlock and secure café upon opening and closing
- Assume responsibility for quality of products prepared and served
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following MTA and Department of Health standards for cleanliness, food handling and sanitation
- Greet all customers, maintain a friendly, courteous and cheerful demeanor, answer customer questions and provide prompt service
- Perform light janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, wiping countertops and tabletops and removing trash
- Maintain and operate all café equipment per manufacturer and company specifications
- Follow policies and procedures in place to help control food cost and minimize waste
- Regular and reliable attendance required
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge:
- Must have basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing) for cash handling purposes
- Requires constant daily interaction with people
- Must be able to operate a calculator, credit card terminal and cash register
- Must be able to multi-task
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma preferred
- Previous barista or food service experience preferred
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must obtain Food Handler Certification within 3 months of hire
