Job Description:
The veterinary technician or assistant plays a critical role in patient care, clinic operations, and helping veterinarians manage time and tasks as efficiently as possible. They assist the doctor during examinations and treatments, and communicate important patient care information to clients. They safely perform technical procedures and maintain hospital supplies and cleanliness. They provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a passion for veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities:
- provide compassionate, high standard care to all patients
- restrain patients for physical examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
- perform laboratory work, radiography, venipuncture, medication administration (PO, SQ, IM, IV, topical), pharmacy duties
- acquire medical history for appointments and communicate discharge
- explain instructions to owners
- monitor and carry out treatments as directed by doctors for hospital patients
- prep surgery room and instruments, assist in induction and recovery, monitoring
- of anesthetic depth during surgical procedures
- maintain safe and sanitary environment throughout the clinic
- learn and implement new tasks as the clinic expands and updates medical guidelines/protocols

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology (required)
- One year previous experience in an animal hospital or clinic (required)
- One year animal handling experience (required)
Work Schedule: Day, Night, Weekends, Extended hours, and Holidays.
