What are the responsibilities and job description for the FIRE FIGHTER position at Military Department?
The Emergency Services Section is responsible for insuring life, safety, and the protection of property and life through fire suppression and emergency medical service responses. Under the supervision of the Fire Chief or Fire Captain/Lead, the firefighter responds to emergency services activities for Camp Roberts and Strike Team Missions in or out of County Calls.

Department Information
As an employee of the CA Military Department (CMD), you are required to perform the “essential functions” of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. You are expected to work cooperatively with all internal/external staff, to provide the highest level of customer service possible while meeting the CMD mission. All employees are required to treat others fairly, honestly, and with respect.
The CMD has free parking; a free gym on-site for employees; and conveniently located within a few miles of major shopping centers, including many restaurants.
Persons employed at the California Military Department must be a United States Citizen (or naturalized citizen) and able to pass a background investigation and LiveScan fingerprinting.
- This position may/may not be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the CMD and based on the current telework policy. While the CMD supports telework where possible, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
