Position Summary
When Airmen need to be saved from a hostile or unreachable location, it’s up to our Special Warfare Pararescue (PJ) members to bring them home safely. To rescue and medically treat these Airmen, you’ll take part in every aspect of our missions and be trained in a variety of skills. These include parachuting, rock climbing, scuba diving and navigating arctic environments so you can save a life whenever and wherever needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evacuate and stabilize injured personnel in combat and humanitarian environments.
- Perform life-saving medical care.
- Lead activities in mountainous, desert, arctic, jungle or urban regions.
- Conduct surface-to-air communications to secure operations.

Full-time opportunities for this role vary by location. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma, GED with 15 college credits, or GED
- General 49 ASVAB score required
- Successful completion of the Special Warfare Operator Enlistment IFT
- Physical qualification for aircrew, parachute and marine-diving duty
- Qualification and proficiency as a static line and military freefall parachutist and as a military SCUBA diver
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
