What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Brake Field Service Tech - Portland, OR position at Military Technical Recruiting (MTR.vet)?
Utilize professional communication skills and mechanical knowledge to test, troubleshoot, and repair complex technical problems on Industrial Machining products. Services are provided on-site at customer facilities and remotely via telephone if the situation permits. Duties include:
- Heavy local area travel but with occasional travel throughout North America
- Travel to local customer locations to diagnose technical problems and perform on-site repairs
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair / rebuild mechanical and electrical systems
- Examine machines mechanically and perform repairs by dismantling and rebuilding mechanical system
- Diagnose technical problems and troubleshooting via telephone if possible
- Exhibit extremely effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Utilize schematics, drawings, and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems
Requirements
- Military or industry experience from a mechanical background with some basic electrical ability
- 2-5 years of experience as a field service technician is a PLUS
- Any PLC, industrial automation, machine tool, or CNC programming experience is a huge PLUS
- Skilled in mechanical (dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc) and electrical measurement (voltmeter, etc)
- Current valid drivers’ license is required due to the necessary extensive local travel
